Of Counsel Brendan Hennessy, Esquire, is an experienced employment attorney.  He has handled thousands of employment cases before various federal courts as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), and/or the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.  In addition to actively handling employment cases on behalf of clients, for the past ten years, he has also served as an adjunct professor teaching Employment Law with Villanova University.  He also teaches a Risk Reduction and Compliance class with American University and a class on the Legal Environment of Business with St. Joseph’s University.  He further serves as a contract and pro bono mediator with the EEOC in both federal and private cases.  He graduated from Temple University School of Law in 2003, having served as a member on the Temple Law Review and an officer of the Temple Moot Court Board.  He graduated from St. Joseph University in 1998.  He has been recognized as a Rising Star in Employment and Labor from 2012-2018 and a Super Lawyer in Employment Law from 2019-2021.

Litigation Avoidance

We provide guidance to employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, the National Labor Relations Act and wage and hour laws.

Employment Policies and Training

We counsel employers on developing effective policies for employee complaints, discipline, leaves of absence, requests for accommodation and wage and hour issues.  We offer in-house training on anti-discrimination policies, workplace investigations and best employment practices.

Litigation

We represent employers in administrative proceedings and lawsuits alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, defamation, wage and hour claims, and trade secrets and restrictive covenant disputes.
